Our Students

studentstrip2

students_stripvert1Our students range in ages and experiences, and we are proud to have them all. Our immediate barn community is a mixture of working adults, college students, retired adults, and grade school students. They have won awards for horsemanship and sportsmanship as well as their riding accolades. In 2013 and 2014, Steep Forest Farm students won the USHJA Horsemanship Stable Challenge for Zone 3! It is very important to us that our riders are not only riders, but team players who help maintain a supportive, positive atmosphere for cultivating further knowledge.

In the past we’ve worked with kids who are Pony Clubbers and 4H Members, and horses who are rescues or reclaim projects. We have enjoyed working with riders and horses from other disciplines, such as helping AQHA show horses learn to jump; all breeds are welcome and we have experiences with a wide variety of them (even a spotted mule)! We really enjoy all teaching, from the grassroots level to the national level.
